Indonesian bank BRI Agro has chosen Google Cloud as its primary cloud provider as it accelerates its digital banking platform and strategy to serve people in Indonesia’s growing gig economy.

The bank will work with Google Cloud across several strategic areas in line with the Indonesian Government’s goal of improving financial inclusion in the country. These areas include:

  • Migrating core banking and internal banking applications to the public cloud to take advantage of lower latency, improved scale, and advanced security whilst meeting local compliance requirements and optimizing infrastructure spend
  • Migrating big data and data management platforms to better manage end-to-end customer lifecycles online and deliver personalized customer experiences
  • Build a microservices architecture to establish new consumer facing services
  • Safeguard banking data and assists the digital bank with regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, and overall security.

“Innovation in financial services and the ability to adapt in a post pandemic world is set by technology disruption. We’re proud to support BRI in its mission to improve financial inclusion and resilience,” said Megawaty Khie, Country Director, Google Cloud in Indonesia.
