Flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia has partnered with Canadian simulation training and critical operations support solutions provider CAE Inc to optimise crew planning and manage flight operations.

Garuda Indonesia will migrate to the newest version of CAE Crew Planner, upgrading its crew planning capabilities to achieve better efficiency and cost savings.

The Crew Planner builds superior crew rosters for the airline team to improve crew utilisation and reduce manual efforts in meeting regulatory compliances.

The airline said it will continue to manage its operations using CAE Operations Control and CAE Crew Management as part of a contract extension for CAE's Flight Operations Solutions.

CAE Flight Operations Solutions is a digital platform trusted by airlines and business aviation companies to optimise their operations. Spanning the crew, flight, movement, airport, onboard catering, and cost management, CAE's customisable end-to-end solution is said to improve decision-making through integrated data.

CAE's senior VP for flight services & global operations, Pascal Grenier said the solutions will deliver a step change in Garuda's efficiency.

CAE's Crew Management is a resource planning tool powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning that optimises schedules, forecasts crew resources, maintains safety standards, and enables fast recovery from disruptions. The latest version of CAE Crew Management will enable the airline to automate and digitise flight operation functions.

With CAE's Operations Control, a comprehensive, real-time, scalable, and configurable operations management system, Garuda said it will manage, communicate and recover faster and easier than ever before.

Garuda Indonesia plans to maximise business performance following its exit from restructuring, tapping into opportunities in the cargo space.
