Sun Life Financial’s chief information and technology officer for Hong Kong, Singapore and Bermuda, Deepak Budhiraja, is set to leave after more than a decade with the firm.
Budhiraja is set to take up the vacant chief information officer role at Zurich Financial Services Australia from January 16 next year and will relocate from Hong Kong to Sydney.
Budhiraja’s decade-long stint at Sun Life has also seen him in roles such as chief information officer for Vietnam, and director of technology for Sun Life’s Asia Service Centre, which supports business units across Asia, as well as in Canada.
Sun Life is headquartered in Canada and is mostly known as a life insurance company.
In a statement announcing the move, Zurich A/NZ’s chief operating officer Hilary Bates said Budhiraja “brings an impressive breadth of international experience to this role, including a strong capability in formulating digital roadmaps and a passion for innovation and customers.”
“We very much look forward to Deepak joining in the new year and welcoming him as a key member of the local Zurich team,” Bates said.
