Singtel has partnered with business software maker SAP to develop an end-to-end intelligent edge aggregator (IEA) to help customers gain real-time insights for better decision-making on time-sensitive business requisites.
IEA will be developed on Singtel's Paragon platform backed by its 5G networks and multi-edge computing solutions.
This will allow enterprise customers to immediately access SAP software and integrate it into their back-end processes.
Singtel said the solution will add greater cloud functionality and computing capabilities to its network architecture to enhance enterprise operations.
This will equip enterprises with "more tools and support to develop 5G use cases", notably in manufacturing and logistics sectors, that require applications such as automated quality checks, defect detection and last-mile delivery robotics.
Singtel's vice president of Enterprise 5G and Platforms, Dennis Wong, said the firm aims to address the increasingly complex needs of enterprises, such as applications for computer vision and workplace safety through this collaboration.
“This is part of our ongoing strategy to help enterprises exploit the capabilities of 5G, through Paragon, to drive innovation and business growth,” he added.
IEA will be expanded to other markets such as Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India.
