PT Bank Commonwealth (PTBC), an Indonesian subsidiary of Australian 'big four' bank CBA, has appointed Jon Porter as its new chief information officer.
Porter moved into the role last month after 18 months as technical director for the PTBC technology uplift programme.
He said in a LinkedIn post that he'd worked remotely as technical director but is “excited” to split his time “between Perth and Jakarta".
Porter replaces Rajesh Narayanan who left the role in March this year to take up a position at Amazon Web Services.
A CBA spokesperson told iTnews that Porter will "oversee all technology functions of PT Bank Commonwealth, a subsidiary of CBA, incorporated in Indonesia and regulated by the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK)."
“This includes responsibility to execute IT strategy for the bank, continuing to deliver the bank’s technology simplification and modernisation plans, oversee all service management and project delivery functions within the bank," the spokesperson said.
He will report to the director of operations, technology and finance at PT Bank Commonwealth, Timothy Delahunty.
The CBA spokesperson said Porter brings “30 years' experience in IT across a variety of sectors including telecommunications and financial services, and has led large programmes of work and operational teams in Europe and Australia.”
