Websites of Singapore public healthcare clusters, hospitals down

Internet disruption blamed for the disruption.

Websites of all major Singapore public hospitals, polyclinics and healthcare clusters were down since 11.30am Singapore time.

The website of the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) was also inaccessible.

The hospitals affected include Singapore General Hospital, National University Hospital, the Alexandra, Tan Tock Seng, and Khoo Teck Puat hospitals

Till the time of publication, the websites were still down.

Synapxe, formally Singapore’s health tech agency Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS) wrote in Facebook post in the morning that there was an internet access disruption “affecting all public healthcare clusters”.

The agency said services requiring internet applications like websites, emails and the NUHS (National University Health System) contact centre were inaccessible.

It, however, said clinical services within the public healthcare network (eg access to patient records) remain accessible and unaffected.

The agency said it was “currently working to resolve the issue”.

A check at 4pm Singapore time showed that the websites were still down.

The mobile Health Hub application, used by a majority of Singapore residents to access health services like booking appointments and paying bills, was initially down as well. Later it was up and running but connectivity was spotty. The websites of private hospitals were up and running.

The Synapxe website itself was down before coming back online at about 2.30pm.

Synapxe supports the operations of 46 public healthcare institutions, including acute hospitals and polyclinics, and some 1,400 community partners such as nursing homes and general practitioners (GPs).

Singapore has three healthcare clusters that manage all public hospitals and polyclinics.

SingHealth runs the hospitals and polyclinics in the east while the National University Health System runs those in the west, and the National Healthcare Group runs those in the central region.
