The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) is working to strengthen the country’s cyber defence efforts and is facilitating discussions on cybersecurity collaboration, including the exchange of intelligence on cyber threats, online scams and vulnerabilities.

The aim is to enhance technical cooperation to develop cybersecurity solutions through research.

It has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NTT Data and NTT Security Holdings.

They will engage in regular reviews to assess opportunities, risks, and challenges associated with emerging technologies including AI and quantum security.

CSA’s deputy chief executive, Chua Kuan Seah, said it is essential to collaborate with industry players to leverage capabilities and domain expertise to shape the digital terrain for Singapore to protect and defend cyberspace.

The partnership with NTT is the first with a company headquartered in Japan – forms the foundations of a public-private cybersecurity community.

It will help facilitate information sharing and enhance situational awareness of cyber threats and incidents and deliver better cybersecurity outcomes for Singapore and our stakeholders, Chua said.

NTT Data plans to strengthen partnerships with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and higher learning institutions.

The aim is to train people in domains including cybersecurity, network and infrastructure, software and applications, and cloud computing.

NTT Data, Singapore chief executive officer, Png Kim Meng, said the collaboration aims to strengthen the nation's cyber defence and provide solutions that safeguard critical infrastructure and sensitive data.
