Palo Alto Networks has appointed Steven Scheurmann as regional VP for the Asean region.

Scheurmann, who will be based in Singapore, will oversee Palo Alto Networks business in the region – from driving revenue growth and market momentum, to building the overall strategy.

According to his LinkedIn profile, prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, Scheurmann was Principal Advisor for KPMG looking into the development of the company’s RegTech proposition and playbooks to support digitised governance, risk and compliance across an organisation's respective operational functions.

Scheurmann has lived and worked in the Asia-Pacific region for close to 30 years, and began his career at the Department of Immigration and Border Protection at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta.

He went on to serve in senior positions with several multinational companies and large Asian conglomerates across the region, including major software and security vendors.

He has taught at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School.

Palo Alto Networks’ president of JAPAC, Simon Green said Scheurmann was joining the company at a time of “great momentum and change”.

“Rapid digitalisation in Asean is reshaping the region, bringing with it new and evolving cyber threats every day… We are glad to have him on board, and are certain that Palo Alto Networks will benefit greatly from his wide experience,” Green said.

Scheurmann said: “I am excited to be joining one of the largest names in cybersecurity and working alongside the talented Palo Alto Networks regional team to propel our Asean business forward and create greater value for our customers, partners and employees”.
