Lim Soon Chia joins stat board from CSA.

JTC has appointed Lim Soon Chia as its Chief Digital Officer.

Announcing his new role in a LinkedIn post, Lim said he was “super-excited to be able to contribute to the next phase of its (JTC) digitalisation journey".

He added that over the past decade, JTC has been at the “vanguard” of the industrial 4.0 transformation, spearheading the “digital metamorphosis of our nation’s industry”.

Lim wrote: “I am incredibly privileged to be part of this diverse, highly proficient and driven team. Together, we aim to realise a digital-first culture for Singapore’s industries, one that will catalyse business transformation and enhance competitiveness across our industrial sectors.”

Lim joins JTC from the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) where he was Director (CSEC)/Head Cybersecurity Certification Centre. Lim joined CSA in 2015, around the time the organisation was set up as a statutory body to protect Singapore’s cyberspace.

Prior to CSA, Lim was with the Singapore Air Force serving as Deputy Head Air Ops (C4) and before that he worked for Singapore’s Ministry of Defence as Deputy Chief Research & Tech Officer (Ops & C4) /Deputy Head Joint Planning & Transformation Department.

Established in June 1968, JTC is the government agency in charge of Singapore’s industrial progress.

With more than 3,000 buildings within its portfolio, JTC works with the private sector and organisations such as the Singapore Green Building Council, to design greener buildings with the use of technology.

It is a big user of technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), big data, Internet of Things (IoT) for building inspection, maintenance and construction.
