India’s leading airline carrier Air India has tapped regulatory and compliance software specialist Ideagen to enhance end-to-end safety management, including real-time intelligence, reporting and status of in-flight incidents.

Air India is deploying Ideagen’s enterprise cloud software application Coruson to weed out paperwork and ensure automated processes relay critical information to key personnel and authorities on time. It aims to achieve full visibility of safety data from maintenance of the aircraft through to cabin crew checks on board.

Air India’s head of safety, security and quality, Henry Donohoe said Coruson provides them complete visibility across the entire organisation, allowing it to access the latest data and mitigate potential risks, thereby enhancing the safety of operations.

“We are going for a significant and substantial upgrade of our existing systems and processes to ensure seamless flow of intelligence and data on a real-time basis,” he added.

Coruson ensures risk mitigation, auditing and training to enhance the airline’s capabilities for safety. Ideagen’s customer base of more than 11,400 includes more than 250 airlines and other aerospace and defence companies including British Airways, Emirates, Boeing, Airbus, BAE and the US Navy.

Air India said its partnership with Ideagen was in line with its transformation goals.

The firm is currently focussing on its five-year transformation roadmap in growing both its network and fleet, developing a completely revamped customer proposition, and improving reliability and on-time performance.
