India’s Berger Paints transforms network operations with HPE

Streamlines connectivity across 160 branches.

By Kumar Gandharv on Aug 9, 2024 4:59AM

Indian multinational paint company Berger Paints is enhancing and optimising its wide area network (WAN) connectivity across 160 branches in the country.

This includes data centers, disaster recovery sites, and headquarters.

It has selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Aruba Networking EdgeConnect SD-WAN solution.

With HPE, the company can reduce the time spent querying and downloading large ERP (enterprise resource planning) reports.

By leveraging the inbuilt WAN Optimisation feature, the company benefits from faster response times for critical business applications, including ERP and SharePoint.

This results in over a 50 percent reduction in data sent over the WAN and ensures efficient IT operations, including in remote and low-bandwidth branch locations.

Berger Paints India’s CIO, Partha Protim Mondal, said selecting HPE Aruba Networking will improve application availability, user experiences, and network performance.

The company can respond quickly to business demands with increased productivity and higher return on investment, said Mondal.

It will help eliminate single points of failure, automatically rerouting traffic over backup links without disrupting application sessions, he added.

Reducing IT costs

The solution replaces high-cost MPLS WAN links with broadband, reducing IT costs.

The SD-WAN solution uses a centralised control function to securely and intelligently steer traffic across the WAN and directly to SaaS and IaaS providers.

This improves application performance and delivers a better user experience, enhancing business productivity.

HPE Aruba Networking India’s director, Prakash Krishnamoorthy, said centralised control and simplified management are imperatives to securely connect enterprise networks, branch offices, and data centers.

For Berger Paints, the SD-WAN solution will improve the quality of service, latency, and load issues.

It will unify networking and security functions to alleviate roadblocks between teams, minimise complexities and cost, and optimise cross-functional collaboration, he added.

With the built-in firewall, the solution can enhance the user experience for SaaS applications, utilising secured local internet breakouts over broadband.
