Japanese mobility manufacturer, Yamaha Motors, is unifying data across its global ERP and business systems.
The move covers all regions and departments.
This will help staff get access to reliable data, enabling faster decisions, reporting, and operations to deliver better services.
The company is implementing Informatica’s AI-powered Master Data Management (MDM) SaaS solution.
The system is powered by Informatica’s CLAIRE AI engine.
Yamaha aims to streamline, centralise, and automate cross-domain and cross-departmental data assets for a comprehensive, contextualised 360-degree view.
This implementation helps enable the organisation to boost productivity, accelerate data discovery, and deliver consistent and accurate data for trusted insights.
Yamaha Motor’s chief general manager, IT Centre, Toyoto Ono, said, with the implementation of Informatica's MDM, the company is creating an interface platform that seamlessly connects each region’s ERP systems with the proprietary scratch systems.
This platform enhances decision-making, forecasting and reporting processes, while driving productivity improvements and cost efficiencies through the effective ERP system deployment and maintenance, Ono added.
Overcoming data challenges
Yamaha Motor faced challenges in managing extensive and complex data.
The company also dealt with siloed systems across its manufacturing and business operations in different global locations.
Its global ERP systems required the unification of data standards.
Data harmonisation was needed because instances and contents differed from region to region.
The inability to share the same master data across the group company's ERP and business systems further reduced operational efficiency.
Informatica Japan’s country manager and vice president, Taito Kozawa, said the company is supporting Yamaha’s goal to strengthen data-driven decision-making and accelerate AI and digital transformation.
As many organisations in Japan pursue similar initiatives, the company remain committed to working with customers to help them realise meaningful business values through our AI-powered platform and capabilities, Kozawa added.
