Cybersecurity company Tenable has appointed former vice president of security products at Google Cloud, Eric Doerr, as its new chief product officer (CPO).

In this role, Doerr will lead Tenable’s global product organisation, driving strategy, innovation, and execution across the cybersecurity portfolio.

His appointment comes as Tenable prepares to roll out an expanded version of the Tenable One platform to deliver broader exposure management capabilities.

“Tenable has a clear and compelling vision for the future of cybersecurity - one that unifies visibility, prioritisation and remediation across the modern attack surface,” said Tenable co-CEO Steve Vintz.

“Eric’s deep expertise in cloud-native security, threat intelligence, and large-scale product innovation makes him the ideal leader to advance our exposure management vision and accelerate our impact across the enterprise,” Vintz added.

Doerr brings close to 30 years of experience in building and scaling security products.

Shai Morag, Tenable’s current CPO, will remain at the company during the transition period.

Before Google, Doerr spent over two decades at Microsoft in senior security and identity roles, including general manager of Microsoft Account and corporate vice president of cloud security and the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC).
