TECO Electric & Machinery, a Taiwan-headquartered business group, has announced the signing of data centre projects in Selangor and Johor Bahru.
Selangor is a state on the west coast, and Johor Bahru is a city at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula.
With a combined capacity of 178 MW, the two contracts have a total value exceeding SGD 51 million (MYR 170 million).
The TECO team will undertake the Elmina Business Park project in Selangor, which includes server room installations and the deployment of hyperscale fibre-optic communication infrastructure.
In Johor Bahru, the Sedenak Tech Park project will focus on fibre-optic solutions for hyperscale data centres.
In March 2025, the company announced the acquisition of Malaysian mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering company NCL Energy.
Additionally, Teco's Intelligence Energy Business Group is currently executing a data centre MEP project in Singapore.
This includes the installation of the 13,864-core hyperscale fibre-optic cable.
This will help the client build a high-speed, stable, and scalable data transmission architecture to boost the overall performance of the data centre.
In Singapore, Teco has over a decade of expertise in data centre MEP engineering, delivering integrated solutions totalling over 240MW in capacity.
