Singapore-headquartered ST Telemedia Global Data Centres has announced the construction of a new 38 MW data centre in Tokyo, Japan.
The data centre named STT Tokyo 2 will be the company’s second data centre facility in Tokyo.
It is expected to be ready for service by early 2027.
This will help meet the demand for critical digital infrastructure and the requirements of cloud computing and AI workloads.
STT GDC’s group chief operating officer, Thomas Ee, said the aim is to provide customers in Japan with a digital infrastructure to handle the demands of current and accelerated computing workloads for public and private institutions.
According to the company, STT Tokyo 2 is part of STT GDC’s new data centre campus located within Goodman Business Park in Inzai City, in the Greater Tokyo Area.
The campus will support up to 70 MW of IT capacity, it added.
