India's electrical solutions provider Polycab has revealed through its regulatory filing that its IT infrastructure was recently targeted by a ransomware attack on March 17, 2024.

"However, the incident has not impacted the core systems and operations of the company," it added.

Polycab is engaged in the business of manufacturing and selling wires and cables and fast moving electrical goods such as electric fans, LED lighting and luminaires, switches and switchgear, solar products and conduits and accessories.

The firm's telecom division is engaged in manufacturing OFCs, FRP/ARP Rods, IGFR Yarns and a range of end-to-end passive networking solutions and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.

Polycab said that its systems are up and running with all factories currently operating to serve customers.

It added that its technical team is  "actively" working with a specialised team of external cybersecurity experts to analyse the incident.
