Dell Technologies has appointed Richard McLaughlin as president of its Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China (APJC) business, tasking him with steering regional strategy and sales across one of the company’s fastest-growing markets.

McLaughlin takes over from Peter Marrs, who transitions into a senior leadership position within Dell’s North America organisation.

In his new role, McLaughlin will oversee Dell’s operations across Australia and New Zealand, Greater China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, as well as South Asia and Emerging Markets.

A veteran of more than two decades, McLaughlin most recently led a global sales team supporting multinational customers. Since joining the company in 1999, he has held several senior posts including vice president for the Americas and director of global financial services accounts. Before Dell, he held leadership roles at IBM/Tivoli, Compuware, Princeton Softech and NCR.

McLaughlin said the region presents significant opportunities as enterprises accelerate digital and AI adoption.

“APJC is an exciting market with strong growth potential. Working with our teams, partners and customers, we aim to simplify IT environments, unlock the benefits of AI and support organisations as they modernise their technology strategies,” he said.
