To launch mobile banking app.

Cambodian commercial lender, Canadia Bank, has partnered with Tencent Cloud to launch a new mobile banking app to provide a better digital banking experience to customers.

The mobile banking app has been built using Tencent’s mobile financial technology platform, Tencent Mobile Framework (TMF).

For application reinforcement, security assessment, and mobile app environment security, Canadia Bank tapped into the mobile security app reinforcement tools of Tencent Cloud.

Canadia Bank’s chief information officer, Howard Lau, said the launch of the new app is a step in the bank’s digital transformation roadmap.

“With this collaboration, we look forward to having our first-class products and services implemented to the benefit of all customers in Cambodia,” said Lau.

According to the bank, the app allows customers to generate KHQR Codes, a universal QR code system created for retail payments in Cambodia, to settle payments, and make group transfers to pay family and friends in one go.

Customers can also open an account via the app's EZ account opening feature and collect points from the loyalty programme – in just a few clicks, it added.

Lau said the bank plans to add more features and services to the new app as part of its digital transformation strategy.

Tencent Cloud International’s senior vice president, Poshu Yeung, said the company has partnered with Yusys Technologies, a Chinese banking IT solution provider, to support the bank for the launch of the app.

Established in 1991, the Canadia Bank has recently opened its second smart branch named IFL Smart Branch offering full-banking services equipped with self-service digital banking devices. This comes months after launching its first smart branch.
