LG subsidiary, LG CNS teams up with SAP

To develop next-generation ERP software.

LG CNS, a subsidiary of South Korean conglomerate LG Corporation, has partnered with SAP to develop next-gen enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for South Korean customers.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two companies will collaborate to develop and operate new ERP systems for LG CNS corporate clients based on SAP’s S/4HANA.

SAP will provide training on SAP Enterprise Cloud Service (SAP ECS) processes and IT tools to enable LG CNS to provide TechOps services to customers, the companies said.

LG CNS CEO, Hyun Shin-kyun, said the partnership was an opportunity for the company to bring its ERP offering to global standards, and for SAP to expand its customer reach in the Korean market.

Both companies will work together to support customers in their digital transformation journeys, he added.

The initiative will see SAP Korea support LG CNS’ plans to integrate application modernisation (AM), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning within its ERP software to help the Korean company provide cloud-based ERP systems for domestic and international customers.

Additionally, there are plans to explore joint go-to-market opportunities.

In February, LG CNS signed a strategic business agreement with Adobe Korea to "bring innovation to customers’ digital experiences".
