JALCARGO, the air freight division of Japan Airlines, has signed on to cargo.one, an international marketplace for digital air cargo bookings.

The agreement means that air freight capacity on JALCARGO flights can now be booked through the online platform.

Cargo.one said it now has agreements with “all three of Japan’s home carriers”.

Japan Airlines cargo and mail executive officer Hiroo Iwakoshi said that being on the platform would help JALCARGO “to differentiate online and scale new heights of digital success”.

“The rollout of JALCARGO capacities on cargo.one begins with European markets,” the platform operator said.

Tokyo's airports are consistently among the world’s top air cargo hubs by freight tonnes.

As the flag carrier of Japan, JALCARGO delivered over 740,000 tonnes of air cargo in 2021.

Cargo.one said it expects “many thousands of freight forwarders” to start “using cargo.one … to instantly search, book, amend and track JALCARGO capacities in real time”.
