Documents are at the heart of many business processes, but they often come in many different formats, layouts, languages and structures, making them complex and difficult to store, process or analyse. There is an urgent need to transform different types of documents into structured data for business workflows.
As more enterprises adopt AI, and with the growing volumes of business data, Singapore and Southeast Asian organisations need to look at advanced technologies to stay agile and competitive. A key area is intelligent document processing, which enables better accuracy, more scalability and productivity, reduced operational costs and ultimately allows the business to be operationally efficient and agile.
To find out about INTSIG, who is taking part in TechWeek this year in Singapore, and learn how its TextIn enterprise document intelligence platform has become an indispensable and trusted workflow tool relied by many customers, iTNews Asia speaks with Leo Li, General Manager of Smart Solution Group at INTSIG.
iTNews Asia: Can you tell us more about INTSIG and your experience working with enterprises? How has the company grown over the years and what has been its major achievements?
Leo Li: INTSIG was founded in 2006, and we have more than 20 years of experience in AI and text intelligence. Today, we work with more than 4,000 enterprise customers globally, including more than 170 Fortune Global 500 companies as of 2025. We also hold 139 patents worldwide.
Some of our customers include Geely Digital Technology, iFLYTEK, CSCEC South Pacific, Linde, Haitian Plastics Machinery, Webasto, CITIC Securities and Macau University of Science and Technology.
Over the years, our focus has remained quite consistent: turning AI into practical solutions that address real business needs and create long-term value for enterprises.
iTNews Asia: Can you share more about the importance and role of document intelligence as more enterprises increasingly turn to AI?
Leo Li: There is still a huge amount of information in enterprises that sits inside invoices, contracts, reports and other unstructured documents. The challenge is not just getting AI to “read” these documents, but to actually understand the information inside them and make it usable by AI.
This is where document intelligence comes in. It has gone beyond traditional OCR. With multimodal AI, we can now understand much more complex documents and turn their contents into usable information.
For enterprises, this can mean less manual work and fewer errors, as well as greater efficiency. More importantly, it helps companies move from simply digitising information to using AI to automate business processes intelligently.
iTNews Asia: What is TextIn? What business problems does it address? What are the core capabilities of TextIn and where can TextIn create value as enterprises adopt AI?
Leo Li: TextIn is INTSIG’s text intelligence platform for enterprises, with two main products: xParse and DocFlow.
xParse provides AI-native document infrastructure. It takes complex, unstructured documents and turns them into structured knowledge that can be used by LLMs, AI agents and RAG applications.
DocFlow is an end-to-end document processing agent that automates documents workflows from parsing, splitting and classification, to information extraction and intelligent review.
For enterprises, security and compliance are also essential. Our solutions are designed around enterprise-grade data and information management requirements, and we have obtained certifications including ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701 and ISO/IEC 20000.
iTNews Asia: What will you be exhibiting at Cloud & AI Infrastructure Asia 2026 during TechWeek in September? What can visitors learn at the show and how can they reach out to INTSIG?
Leo Li: We will be showcasing TextIn, including xParse and DocFlow, and demonstrating how document intelligence can be applied to real business processes.
We hope visitors can get a better sense of what document intelligence can actually do in an enterprise environment, rather than just hearing about AI in theory. We also look forward to meeting enterprise customers and partners, sharing experiences and discussing how AI can deliver measurable business value.
Visitors are welcome to meet us at Booth 5-J15, or get in touch with us at pr@intsig.com.
iTNews Asia: How important is Singapore and the Southeast Asian region to INTSIG?
Leo Li: Singapore and Southeast Asia are very important markets for INTSIG. Businesses in the region have strong demand for digital transformation and AI, and we see a lot of potential for document intelligence across areas such as international trade, finance, logistics, manufacturing and e-commerce.
We also see a lot of value in working closely with local partners. They understand the market and the needs of local businesses, so building these relationships will help us develop a better understanding of the region and create solutions that are more relevant to customers here. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships and grow together with the market.
iTNews Asia: What are the industries in the region that need intelligent document processing the most? Why?
Leo Li: Logistics and supply chain are two areas where we see particularly strong potential.
Companies in these industries deal with large volumes of shipping documents, bills of lading, customs documents and other paperwork every day. These documents can also come in different languages and formats, which makes manual processing even more challenging.
Intelligent document processing can turn this information into structured data and connect it with downstream business systems. This can help companies improve efficiency and handle larger volumes without simply adding more manual work.
Retail and e-commerce are also areas with strong potential. More broadly, we believe that wherever documents are closely connected to an important business process, there is an opportunity to use AI to make that process more efficient.
iTNews Asia: Going forward, where do you see are the regional opportunities for INTSIG?
Leo Li: We think one of the biggest opportunities is helping enterprises move from experimenting with AI to actually deploying it at scale.
There is a lot of potential in document-heavy business processes, especially where companies need to deal with multiple languages, complex documents and large volumes of information. These are areas where AI can make a real difference.
Building strong local partnerships and continuing to understand the needs of each market will also be important for our future growth.
Ultimately, we want to be a trusted technology partner for enterprises as they move towards more intelligent operations and help them turn AI into real, measurable business value.
