It includes migrating business applications, including financial and accounting, process manufacturing, warehouse management, sales and services, and enterprise asset management.
The company has migrated its databases to Oracle Exadata Database Service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
The aim is to improve scalability, adaptability, resilience, and disaster recovery capabilities to help ensure system uptime and accelerate data insights.
It enables the company to serve its ecosystem of dealers and internal teams.
With this migration, Berger Paints has improved operational efficiency by 25 percent.
It has accelerated report generation and response time by two times.
Increase in database workloads
The company saw growth in its customer base, driven by its focus on customised premium solutions and the surge in urbanisation and infrastructure development.
This resulted in a 2.5 times increase in database workloads.
Berger Paints India’s chief information officer, Partha Protim Mondal, said, the migration to Oracle Exadata Database Service on OCI has helped in improving operational efficiency and optimise costs.
It has laid a foundation to deploy advanced technologies, including AI and machine learning, to enhance the company’s digital transformation, Mondal said.
Berger Paints used Oracle Cloud Hyderabad Region and Oracle Cloud Mumbai Region for its cloud migration.
The company also uses OCI Object Storage and OCI Block Volumes for fast access to large data sets, including database backups and analytics.
According to the company, with OCI’s flexibility and easy management, it adapts operations, handles demand surges, controls costs, and optimises performance.
