Maxis has announced at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC), that it is working on generative artificial intelligence and 5G use cases for Malaysian enterprise customers.

The telco will target retail, manufacturing, logistics and financial services sectors with its 5G optimised artificial intelligence (AI) offerings intended to enhance customer service and support offerings, it added.

Maxis will leverage AWS machine learning capabilities to build, train, and deploy AI models at scale.

With generative AI integration and large language models (LLMs) trained to support the Bahasa Melayu language, Maxis hopes to help in the digital transformation journey of Malaysian businesses.

Maxis’s CEO, Goh Seow Eng said as the leading integrated telecommunications provider in Malaysia, the company will enable customers with the power of 5G and generative AI.

Maxis said it is the first and only telco in Malaysia to be an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner and AWS Direct Connect partner.

AWS Direct Connect cloud service enables low-latency performance by linking the customer’s network directly to the AWS cloud.

The partnership with AWS started in 2019 through a collaboration agreement to deliver cloud technologies.
