Thammasat University Hospital has selected NEC Corporation Thailand to start developing a digital health platform.

The university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  with NEC to develop an application to digitise health records and treatment plans, improve communication between healthcare providers, elderly patients, and their families.

NEC will deploy IoT devices at the hospital, specifically designed to detect falls.

According to the hospital, fall detection technology will help healthcare providers to respond to incidents and deliver immediate care to patients.

NEC will also introduce an alert system, notifying caregivers and patients' relatives in case of emergencies, including a fall or a sudden deterioration in a patient's health, it added.
