The Philippines is looking to transform government services for its citizens through a new eGov super app, according to Assistant Secretary, of the Philippines Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Edwin Ligot.

Launched in June 2023, the eGov PH Super App is a comprehensive platform that aims to digitise and streamline national and local government services.

The app offers a wide range of services including SIM registration, job application, healthcare assistance, job application, e-payments, banking services, travel declaration processes and more.

Its functionality also extends to other essential government services like business registration, tax payment, and social security benefits.

The app also includes an eVisa Portal, enabling users to apply for electronic visas through the platform.

Users can access their digital IDs such as national IDs or driver's licenses through the app, eliminating the need to carry physical documents.

“No more forms, no more writing on paper,” Ligot told CoinGeek at the London Blockchain Conference event recently.

Ligot said the app offers "best opportunities" for Filipinos, as part of the government's ongoing digital transformation journey to enhance accessibility and efficiency in delivering public services.

He added that the Philippines government has the added advantage of being able to learn from other countries and “building a perfect system for the Philippines."
