And optimise performance.

Indonesia's largest digital lender Allo Bank has partnered with the China-based tech firm Tencent Cloud to enhance digital banking in the country.

Allo Bank, the subsidiary of CT Corp, an integrated consumer-focused business group in Indonesia offers six million customers with digital banking products and services including Allo Pay, Allo Pay+, Allo Prime, PayLater and Instant Cash.

It identified its critical need for a database management system to manage large amounts of data efficiently and effectively.

Through public cloud capabilities such as cloud hosting and CDN, the bank aimed to reduce the cost of app download distribution, UAT & Dev Environment, and access security solutions that can detect risks on its mobile application.

Allo Bank's CEO Indra Utoyo said the bank will use Tencent's database management system (TDSQL), along with computing and storage resources to improve its services and tech.

"TDSQL’s optimised thread pool scheduling algorithms will enable us to deliver better heavy load performance," he added.

While TDSQL’s compatibility with MySQL protocols enables seamless integration with existing systems and applications, its horizontal scaling capability is supporting Allo Bank to expand without any downtime.

"We can grow without downtime and process up to 100,000 daily transactions," Utoyo said.

He added that the bank foresees a "more fruitful" future with Tencent Cloud with new goals to use more of their reliable technology.

Tencent Cloud's Vice President Jimmy Chen said they look forward to more collaborations with the bank for additional solutions and services like eKYC (Know Your Customer).
