Indonesian telecoms operator Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (PT Indosat Tbk) has partnered with Finnish telecom gear vendor Nokia to build advanced enterprise campus private wireless networks in key regions across the country.
The firm said the private wireless solution will be deployed in East and Central Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan to enhance the use of Industry 4.0 technologies by customers.
Indosat president director and CEO, Vikram Sinha, said the collaboration was designed to elevate industrial operations with highly reliable, low-latency connectivity.
“Digital transformation is the cornerstone of our plan to maximise Indonesia’s potential, maintain and grow our customer trust, strengthen our core business, and contribute to the country’s digital economy,” he added.
The company said the private wireless solution being deployed, Modular Private Wireless will bring reliability and connectivity to help Indosat customers use digital technologies to increase automation, ensure worker safety and security, and achieve new levels of quality, efficiency and productivity.
The collaboration aims to build a more agile business environment for customers to meet shifting demands, take advantage of the Internet of Things (IoT), and have guaranteed connectivity, Sinha said.
Indosat recently announced that it has selected Nokia as the principal vendor to deploy and expand its 4G and 5G network across Indonesia. The comprehensive three-year deal will see Nokia provide solutions from its latest AirScale portfolio to support Indosat in delivering services remotely.
“Nokia's 5G-ready solution will help us optimise asset utilisation and enhance network performance,” Sinha said.
