SingHealth and SG innovate have announced a three-year partnership to advance the development of AI and other emerging technologies to improve diagnostics and treatment and enhance healthcare delivery and clinical outcomes for Singapore and beyond.

The partnership aims to:

  • Foster AI thought leadership and sharpen the healthcare innovation acumen of AI and health talent through knowledge sharing events and build a Community of Practice that regularly connects deep expertise in healthcare and AI, including the Deep Tech community of corporates, start-ups and innovators.
  • Support start-ups and their innovations in the health and biomedical sciences fields by connecting innovators to potential investors, and supporting start-ups in developing business plans, go-to-market strategies, and commercial networking.
  • Encourage Deep Tech entrepreneurs to work alongside clinician scientists, clinician investigators, doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals from SingHealth to identify technically and clinically robust AI health initiatives and bridge them to strategic collaborators in the industry.
  • Identify technically and clinically robust AI health initiatives and bridge them to strategic collaborators in the industry by developing on-the-job training opportunities for talent with a background in biomedical sciences as well as those with relevant Deep Tech skills.

“In our quest to raise capability and deliver better care, let's make sure AI works alongside us, not as artificial intelligence, but as augmented intelligence that empowers our healthcare workers to have a greater capacity to bring more love, care and compassion to our patients,” said Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health, at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

“The adoption of healthcare technologies and innovations, such as AI, is critical for the future of Medicine to optimise precious resources and ensure a more robust healthcare system to respond to evolving patient needs. This new partnership will be strategic in equipping our healthcare innovators to advance AI in health and catalyse the process of translating novel ideas from bench to bedside,” said Professor Ivy Ng, Group CEO, SingHealth.
