Red Hat names Prem Pavan to lead APAC partner ecosystem

By iTnews Asia Team on Sep 1, 2026 10:00PM

Red Hat has appointed Prem Pavan as Vice President, Head of APAC Ecosystem, placing him in charge of the company’s partner strategy across Asia Pacific as enterprises rethink their infrastructure and technology strategies around AI, hybrid cloud and virtualisation.

Pavan will work with cloud hyperscalers, global systems integrators (GSIs), independent software vendors (ISVs), technology partners, value-added resellers (VARs) and distributors across the region. His remit will include strengthening Red Hat’s regional partner ecosystem and helping partners bring the company’s open source technologies to more customers.

The company said the focus will be on supporting organisations as they modernise infrastructure, scale AI initiatives and build more flexible hybrid cloud environments.

Pavan brings more than three decades of experience in the technology industry, including more than 20 years in leadership roles across Asia Pacific. He most recently served as Vice President and General Manager for Southeast Asia and Korea (SEAK) at Red Hat, where he led the company’s business across the region.

His move into the APAC ecosystem role comes as enterprises across the region face growing pressure to modernise application and infrastructure environments while supporting new AI workloads.

For Red Hat, partners are expected to play a central role in helping customers navigate these changes, particularly as organisations seek greater flexibility and consistency across hybrid environments.

The company’s expanded focus on its ecosystem also reflects a broader shift in enterprise technology adoption, with customers moving beyond AI experimentation towards production deployments and larger-scale modernisation initiatives.

Pavan’s appointment puts partner enablement at the centre of Red Hat’s regional strategy as the company looks to expand the reach of its open hybrid cloud, AI and virtualisation technologies across APAC.
