Nxera, Singtel Group’s regional data centre arm, has opened what it calls Singapore’s energy-efficient multi-tenanted data centre, as demand for AI, cloud and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure continues to surge across the region.
The new facility, DC Tuas, delivers 58MW of AI-ready capacity and lifts Nxera’s total operational capacity in Singapore to 120MW. More than 90 percent of the site’s capacity was secured by customers before launch, reflecting strong appetite from enterprises and hyperscalers seeking infrastructure capable of supporting next-generation AI workloads.
The 120,000 sq.ft, eight-storey facility is also said to feature the largest direct-to-chip liquid cooling deployment that offers efficient heat extraction than conventional methods.
According to Nxera, the facility is Singapore’s only hyperconnected data centre integrated with a cable landing station that gives customers direct access to both domestic and international subsea networks. The company said this setup improves latency, resilience and network performance for mission-critical workloads.
Bill Chang, CEO of Nxera and Singtel’s Digital InfraCo unit said this is an important milestone as expand in enabling AI innovations in Singapore. “The ability to deploy higher-density, compute-intensive AI workloads sustainably is increasingly critical for a strategic market where data centre capacity is constrained,” he added.
DC Tuas has achieved the Green Mark Platinum certification jointly conferred by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority and the Infocomm Media Development Authority. It incorporates additional measures including solar power integration, rainwater harvesting, condensate reuse and water recovery systems to minimise environmental impact.
Earlier, in February 2025, Nxera obtained a five-year green loan worth US$506 million (S$643 million) to fund the development of the site, backed by a lending group comprising DBS, OCBC, Standard Chartered, HSBC and UOB.
The launch forms part of Singtel Digital InfraCo’s broader strategy to provide end-to-end digital infrastructure across Asia Pacific, spanning connectivity, subsea cables and data centres.
Nxera said it will bring additional AI-ready capacity online in Batam and Johor in the second half of 2026. Its total operational and pipeline capacity is expected to more than double from 200MW in 2026 to over 400MW in the mid-term.
