Vantage Data Centers has launched a new 16MW data centre in Cyberjaya to meet growing demand for hyperscale capacity in Malaysia.
The facility, known as KUL14, is the fourth and final building on Vantage’s KUL1 campus.
It is fully leased to a single customer.
The launch completes the development of the company’s first Cyberjaya campus.
The campus has expanded as cloud and digital service providers increase their presence in the region.
Vantage Data Centers’ APAC president, Jeremy Deutsch, said the facility will support a customer expanding its operations in Malaysia.
“Malaysia has emerged as Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing data centre hub,” said Deutsch.
The company is expanding its footprint to grow with customers, including a second Cyberjaya campus with over 400MW of capacity, he added.
The company reported that KUL14 was built using its “sustainable by design” approach.
The facility uses a closed-loop chilled water system that requires minimal water.
The system delivers virtually zero water usage effectiveness (WUE).
Construction required more than 4 million work hours.
The company reported zero safety incidents during the build.
Vantage’s APAC portfolio includes 1GW of operational and planned IT capacity across Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
