Wipro Limited has modernised its global HR systems as part of a broader digital transformation initiative to improve workforce efficiency and operational performance.

It has migrated its mission-critical Oracle databases that support payroll and recruitment systems to Oracle Base Database Service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The move has enabled the company to achieve over 50 percent improvement in the performance of its recruitment systems.

It has reduced payroll processing time by 60 percent.

Wipro has leveraged Oracle Interconnect for Google Cloud and Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure to ensure low-latency performance and higher system availability.

This helped Wipro boost efficiency, optimise costs, and reduce payroll processing time from over 70 minutes to 29 minutes.

In addition, the performance of Wipro’s recruitment systems improved by over 50 percent.

Part of efforts to strengthen internal systems

Wipro employs over 230,000 people across 65 countries.

The transformation is part of Wipro’s ongoing effort to strengthen internal systems with an AI-first approach and create a future-ready workforce.

Wipro Limited’s vice president and global head, infrastructure and applications management group, Harish Singh, said as the company accelerates digital transformation with an AI-first mindset, strengthening internal payroll and recruitment systems is critical for a future-ready workforce.

This transformation provides the flexibility, performance, and security to modernise mission-critical systems, boost HR efficiency, and retain talent, Singh added.
