DayOne has started construction on its first hyperscale data centre in Singapore.
The Singapore-headquartered operator plans to deliver 20 MW of capacity across 40,000 sqm.
It aims to make phase one operational by 2026.
The site will support AI, cloud computing, and high-density workloads.
DayOne signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Sembcorp Power to run the facility entirely on renewable energy.
The company will use bundled Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) sourced locally or imported through grid connections.
DayOne also signed a research and development agreement with the National University of Singapore (NUS) under the Sustainable Tropical Data Centre Testbed Phase 2.0 (STDCT 2.0).
The team will test advanced cooling systems and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technologies designed for tropical climates.
The facility will support both air and liquid cooling.
It will also pilot SOFC power generation to explore hydrogen-based energy. DayOne will seek LEED Platinum and BCA Green Mark Platinum certifications for the project.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) awarded DayOne capacity under the Pilot Data Centre Call for Application (DC-CFA).
The project supports Singapore’s plan to add 300 MW of capacity under its Digital Connectivity Blueprint.
DayOne operates in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong SAR. The Singapore site will anchor its regional growth and support AI and high-performance computing workloads.
