Aslan Energy and JIEP to build 40MW data centre in Jakarta

Fully renewable-powered facility to support digital growth.

Aslan Energy Capital (AEC), a Singapore-based clean energy infrastructure firm, has signed a binding agreement with Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) to develop a 40MW hyperscale data centre in East Jakarta of Indonesia.

The Aslan Jakarta Data Centre (AJDC) will be a Tier 4, two-story co-location facility.

It will house up to 7,000 server racks across a 40,000-square-meter site.

It is scheduled to be operational by Q4 2027.

The facility will be entirely powered by certified renewable energy sourced through the JIEP partnership.

It will also integrate a 120 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) to support grid stability and uptime.

AEC says 40 percent of the land will be used for built infrastructure, while the remaining 60 percent will be preserved as a green corridor featuring century-old trees.

The data centre will also feature hybrid air-cooled heat exchangers, which will eliminate the need for cooling towers and significantly reduce water use.

JIEP president director Satrio Witjaksono said the project will contribute to Indonesia’s national digital transformation while setting a benchmark for sustainable infrastructure in industrial zones.
