SAP has appointed Liher Urbizu as president and managing director for its Southeast Asia business.

He succeeds Verena Siow, who now takes on a broader role as regional business suite leader for SAP Asia Pacific.

In his new role, Urbizu will lead strategy, operations, and customer success across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and emerging Indochina countries.

He will focus on driving innovation and sustainable growth through data, AI, and cloud.

Urbizu was most recently the chief business officer for SAP APAC.

Commenting on the appointment, Urbizu said he aims to deliver business outcomes for customers through AI and SAP’s business software solutions.

SAP Asia Pacific president Simon Davies said he will focus on delivering tangible business outcomes for customers by harnessing AI and SAP’s business software solutions.

Siow, who led SAP Southeast Asia for five years, will now focus on accelerating cloud growth and business development across APAC.

In her new role, she will help drive customer success from demand generation to renewals.

She said the Southeast Asia team has shown strong results and resilience, and she looks forward to expanding SAP’s footprint.
