By Kumar Gandharv on Feb 24, 2025 8:18PM

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has begun construction of STT Johor 1 - the first facility in its new data centre campus in Johor, Malaysia.

Located in Nusa Cemerlang Industrial Park, the campus spans 22 acres and with a development potential of 120MW of IT load.

The first facility, STT Johor 1, is designed for 16MW and will be operational by the end of 2026.

It will support the demand for cloud and high-performance computing.

The facility supports enterprises, government agencies, and cloud providers with computing, enabling advanced research, simulations, and data-driven decision-making.

The campus is integrated with STT Singapore 5 and STT GDC’s data centre interconnection (DCI) hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

This will ensure access to business opportunities in other major economies in the region.

STT Johor 1 will be powered by renewable and low-carbon energy sources.

STT GDC is in discussions with Ditrolic Energy as a potential renewable electricity supplier.
