SAP has appointed Simon Davies as regional president for Asia Pacific, effective immediately.
Based in Singapore, Davies will oversee strategy, operations, sales, services, and partnerships across Australia and New Zealand, Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia.
He succeeds Paul Marriott, who returns to Europe after five years in the role.
Davies brings 25 years of experience in IT solutions, having worked with Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle.
Most recently, he was senior vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific and Japan at Splunk.
He also serves on the board of several pre-IPO technology companies and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
Under his leadership, SAP aims to strengthen its presence across the region, supporting customers including NEC Corporation, Coles Group, Wipro, Fujitsu, Shiseido, Hyundai, Kia, Himalaya, Cochlear, and Japan Airlines.
“Our next chapter is being fueled by accelerated cloud and AI innovation, underpinned by our purpose, our people, and our partnerships,” said Manos Raptopoulos, Chief Revenue Officer for APAC, EMEA, and MEE. “Simon’s experience in fast-growth markets and proven leadership in building high-performance, diverse teams will help drive SAP APAC’s continued success.”
Commenting on his new role, Davies said, “Across Asia Pacific and Japan, forward-thinking businesses are accelerating transformation with SAP. Establishing a solid foundation in the cloud and leveraging business data is the gateway to new growth in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and sustainability.”
