Hyperscale data centre provider, Vantage Data Centers, has announced the opening of its first data centre facility - TPE11 - in Taiwan’s Taipei city.

It will deliver 16MW of IT capacity to support cloud and high-density deployments.

Equipped with liquid cooling technology, the facility will support artificial intelligence (AI) and data-intensive applications.

Vantage’s APAC president, Raymond Tong, said Taipei demands for hyperscale data centers to power next-generation applications, cloud transformation, and AI adoption.

The Taipei data center will fulfill customer demand and enable the region’s digitalisation, Tong added.

Located in the Taoyuan district of Taiwan, TPE11 is built on two acres and is a five-story facility.

Ministry of Economic Affairs Department of Investment Promotion, director general, Emile Chang, said, “Semiconductors and AI industries are key components of President Lai’s ‘Five Trusted Industry Sectors,’ while data centres are the backbone infrastructure for AI development.”

The data center features an industry-leading power usage effectiveness (PUE) and low water usage effectiveness (WUE).

TPE11 will be powered by Taiwan Power Company (Taipower), the local utility provider.
