DCI Data Centers, a subsidiary of Brookfield, has begun construction of its first data centre in Seoul, South Korea.

It will be built in a joint venture with South Korean construction company Daelim Industrial.

The new data centre will be designed for hyperscale customers and high-compute deployments.

DCI’s CEO, Nicholas Toh said building a data centre in Seoul is part of Asia's expansion strategy.

The details about the location, size, and IT capacity of the facility have not been shared.

Since Brookfield acquired DCI in 2019, the platform has grown from two sites with less than 10MW to over 10 sites now with 130 MW secured under various stages of development in APAC including in Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra in Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand.
