Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), a Singapore-headquartered shipping company, is working with cloud-based software provider Workday to transform its human resources (HR) processes across six countries to improve employee experience.

EPS is implementing Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) to centralise employee and expense data.

The intention is to reduce the possibilities for human error and inconsistencies.

EPS’ HR manager, Lynnette Wee said with employees distributed in offices across the region the company felt it was critical to equip them with the tools needed to make precise, data-backed decisions.

The collaboration with Workday helps EPS align and standardise various HR operational processes and enables employees to perform duties clearly and precisely, Wee added.

The firm with offices in Singapore, Japan, India, Bulgaria, the UK, and Ukraine has over 400 employees.

Workday also enables EPS to improve processes, including employee onboarding and continuous learning and development.

The shipping firm has implemented Workday Talent Optimisation, Workday Learning, and Workday Expenses.

According to Wee, EPS is also looking to implement Workday Peakon Employee Voice, which will give managers real-time visibility into employee sentiment and insights to take immediate action to help drive organisational change and growth.

Workday’s ASEAN general manager, Pannie Sia, said Workday enables EPS to optimise the time, talent, and energy of employees.

She added that employees can update personal information and initiate requests or approvals for expenses, reducing the administrative workload of HR teams to focus on higher-value tasks.
