UK-based Pure Data Centers’ Director for its Indonesian operations, Chandra Irawan, announced through a LinkedIn post, the launch of the company's first hyperscale data centre facility in Jakarta, Indonesia.

With a 20MW IT load capacity, the facility is ready to support digitalisation and cloud computing in the region, Irawan said.

The data centre has a built-up capacity of  20,000 square metres and is "designed to meet the exacting efficiency and availability standards of the world’s most demanding customers," the company said.

The plans to build the data centre were announced in April 2021, after Pure DC  entered into a partnership with Logos – an APAC-based logistics real estate firm.

The facility was expected to be ready for customer operation in the first quarter of 2022.

However, it got delayed by a year.

LOGOS has operations across Australia, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Korea and New Zealand.

Pure DC, backed by Oaktree Capital Management, was established in 2015.

The London-based company currently has more than 250MW of IT capacity in operation or development in markets across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
