Singapore-headquartered data centre provider, Princeton Digital Group (PDG) is planning to build a 150MW hyperscale campus in Sedenak Tech Park (STeP) in Malaysia.

This marks the group’s entry into its sixth country after Singapore, China, Indonesia, India, and Japan.

Initially, PDG will invest over US$450 million (S$605 million) to complete the first phase of 60MW by the second quarter of 2024.

Named JH1, the data centre will serve the infrastructure needs of customers across the region, PDG said.

PDG’s chief executive officer and co-founder, Rangu Salgame, said the entry into Malaysia adds to the company’s growing footprint in Asia, further strengthening its presence as the Pan-Asia digital infrastructure leader.

It has entered into a definitive agreement with JLand Group (JLG) - Johor Corporation’s real estate and infrastructure arm - for the acquisition of land for the campus.
