Indosat building digital billing solution for customers

Indosat building digital billing solution for customers

Using Ericsson’s digital monetisation platform.

By Kumar Gandharv on Mar 21, 2023 2:20PM

As it builds out its 5G network, Indonesian telecom operator, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (PT Indosat Tbk) is building an end-to-end digital billing solution for customers.

Ericsson’s Telecom Business Support System (BSS)’s digital monetisation platform (DMP) will provide the underlying technology for this new billing solution which will help Indosat to “take advantage of new opportunities centred around digital networking,” the company said.

Indosat’s president director and CEO, Vikram Sinha, said Ericsson would help the telco to “maximise the full potential of 4G and 5G networks, partner ecosystems, new business models, and multi-channel engagements” to all customers, both enterprise as well as retail.

Modern monetisation systems, delivered through DMP, can show real-time billing data to customers who can monitor spending on multiple service bundles using a single service portal, Sinha said.

As Indosat hands over more control to partners and customers to co-create service bundles, the product catalogue system enabled in DMP can incorporate diverse products, from connectivity to IoT devices, and 5G bandwidth slices, he added.

Ericcson’s head of Indonesia, Jerry Soper, said the new partnership strengthens the long-standing collaboration between Ericsson and Indosat.

“DMP will empower Indosat to monetise assets while meeting customer demands with new offers that are faster to market, strengthen competitiveness, enable flexibility to meet market demands, and reduce costs through streamlined operations and total cost of ownership (TCO) -efficient solutions,” he added.

Recently, Indosat announced a partnership with Finnish telecom gear vendor Nokia to build advanced enterprise campus private wireless networks in key regions across Indonesia.
