Princeton Digital Group announces SG+ expansion strategy

Singapore-headquartered data centre provider, Princeton Digital Group (PDG) has announced the launch of a 96 MW data centre campus within Nongsa Digital Park (NDP) in Batam, Indonesia.

This is the first part of PDG’s newly unveiled SG+ strategy.

With an initial investment plan of close to US$1 billion (S$1.34 billion), the Batam campus comprises four buildings of up to 24 MW capacity each.

Besides Batam, PDG is developing data centre sites in Johor as an extension of the company’s operations in Singapore.

PDG’s chairman and chief executive officer, Rangu Salgame, said SG+ strategy would provide a seamless infrastructure growth roadmap for customers.

The new campus in Batam “reinforces growth strategy and solidifies already strong presence” across the region in China, Singapore, India, Indonesia, and Japan, he added.

Singapore Economic Development Board’s VP & Head, of Regional Partnerships, Herman Loh, said PDG’s investment into Nongsa underscores the growth opportunities that Southeast Asia offers to companies.

PDG’s latest expansion in Nongsa will enhance its capability to meet the growing needs of digital companies seeking to expand in the region, he added.

Last year, the company launched its 48 MW data centre in Mumbai, India and is expanding rapidly in Asia with a total capacity of 600 MW across a portfolio of 20 data centres in five key markets.

The company’s 100 MW data centre in Saitama, Tokyo, is scheduled for completion in 2024.
