SentinelOne announces new data centre in Singapore

To aid data protection and compliance.

Autonomous cybersecurity platform company SentinelOne has announced its new data centre in Singapore to aid businesses and government agencies in data protection and regulatory compliance.

Highly regulated industries like financial services providers and government agencies store and protect data on servers located in Singapore.

The hyperscale data centre, built on the AWS platform, is built to protect against cyberattacks with investments in preventing impact from power failures, natural disasters, and break-ins beyond those of most individual organisations, the company said.

SentinelOne Chief Product Officer, Raj Rajamani, said the company is leveraging the cloud to provide enhanced security postures, enabling customers to quickly deploy and standardise on enterprise visibility and response platform Singularity XDR.

The company said its data centre has come at an essential time for Singapore.

In 2021, over 65 percent of Singaporean organisations were hit with ransomware, up from just 25 percent in 2020.

“These increases demonstrate the need Singaporean organisations have for modernising their cybersecurity,” he added.

Early in June this year, SentinelOne announced its plans to invest US$50 million (S$71 million) in Asia, as part of its ongoing global expansion and also build India-hosted data centres., Rajamani said.
