Singapore-headquartered Vickers Venture Partners has lodged a police report over scammers impersonating the company and trying to solicit sign-ups to an unconnected ‘AI trading platform’.

In a statement, Vickers warned that the unknown party had set up websites, Telegram channels and a YouTube account, “claiming to have launched the Vickers Venture AI Trading platform and soliciting the public to open a trading account with them.”

Vickers said the sites and social media channels “are fraudulent”, that it hadn’t created the “AI trading platform”, and that it is not in the business of providing investment services to the public.

“This is a clear case of identity theft,” the company said.

“Vickers manages venture capital investments which are only made available to accredited investors through our six funds and co-investment vehicles.

“Any attempt to solicit investments from any member of the public using Vickers' name and/or brand is a fraud or scam.

“A police report has been lodged in Singapore on this.”

Vickers said it had also filed reports of the scam with “social media organisations” and with a website carrying a false news announcement of the trading platform.

It added that it reserved “the right to pursue legal action” against the culprit or culprits.

The company’s official website is https://www.vickersventure.com/

Vickers' investment portfolio includes blockchain-based verifiable sourcing company Everledger, Southeast Asian professional freelancing platform Fastwork, and computer vision startup Chooch.
