Malaysia Airlines Berhad has signed an expanded multi-year deal with Amadeus covering access to several technology platforms.

The deal will see Malaysia’s national airline “adopt Altéa NDC, reference experience, dynamic intelligence hub and renew its Amadeus Altéa passenger service system contract.”

NDC - new distribution capability - is a program and data exchange standard by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that aims to help airlines package up personalised offers to travellers faster.

“Malaysia Airlines has taken a step in the right direction in adopting NDC, as modernising airline retail is essential for the entire business travel community,” Malaysia Airlines Group CEO Izham Ismail said.

“We are confident that with new technology solutions from Amadeus beyond the passenger service system, we can offer relevant and richer shopping experiences by allowing customers to personalise their travels to an unprecedented level.”

Reference experience is described as “an open platform that will enable the airline to be more agile and user-friendly in the digital space while increasing conversion that leads to improved revenue”, while dynamic intelligence hub is “a real-time data engineering platform will centralise Malaysia Airlines’ data, integrating systems and automating business processes with AI.”
