EY has appointed Richard Watson as Global and Asia-Pacific Cyber Security Leader. In his new role, Richard will lead global development and execution of the EY cyber security strategy, capability, methodology, knowledge sharing and innovative cyber security platform.

Watson brings with him more than two decades of experience in cyber risk assessment, technologies for monitoring and protecting against cyber-attacks and managing cyber incident response in the UK, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Watson has also dedicated the past 6.5 years to growing EY’s cyber security service and leading its expansion in Asia-Pacific.

"In my work with EY clients, I help them understand the cyber risks they are facing and prioritise investments to improve their cyber security posture at a time when they are undergoing huge digital transformation. Cyber security is a universal concern. I am excited to lead the global organisation in the development of EY cyber capacities to better protect EY clients from cyber-related risks, no matter where they operate, and help build a more trusted and secure working world,” said Watson.
