Japan’s Nissin Foods integrates data to transform operations

Replaces SAP with Qlik for real-time ERP data and analysis.

Japanese food company, Nissin Foods Holdings, has developed a data integration and analytics platform to leverage real-time data from the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

The ERP system is integrated with Snowflake.

With access to real-time data, the company eliminates the need for manual data downloads.

This has improved data utilisation and enhanced decision-making processes.

Nissin Foods Holdings has adopted Qlik for this.

Before Qlik, data from its SAP-based core system was fragmented across multiple platforms, making it difficult to establish a unified solution.

Additionally, manual data updates once a day meant the company lacked real-time data.

Nissin Foods Holdings’ executive officer and CIO, Toshihiro Narita, said integrating the company’s ERP system into a single data platform is essential, and Qlik is at the core.

“We have high expectations for its impact on supply chain management, sales and overall business decisions. Moving forward, we plan to further leverage Qlik’s technology and expertise to harness our employees' knowledge as AI-ready data,” Narita added.

In the logistics and sales departments, AI-powered automation has made it possible to track critical data, such as shipments and sales.

This helps alert staff to anomalies and decision-critical information in real time.
