The Asia-Pacific Data Centre Association (APDCA) has announced Jeremy Deutsch as its newly elected chair of the board.

He will lead APDCA for a two-year term following elections held on  February 15, 2024.

Earlier this month, eight global data centre operators joined hands to form the APDCA to represent the collective interests of the data centre industry in formulating policies and regulations.

Deutsch has over two decades of experience in the ICT industry and is currently the president of Asia-Pacific at Equinix.

Before his current role, Deutsch was managing director for Equinix Australia.

Deutsch said he will work with the board to support members and engage with stakeholders to facilitate the sustainable growth of data centres.

APDCA elected Serene Nah as vice-chair for two years. She is currently the managing director and head of Asia Pacific at Digital Realty.

The founding members of APDCA include AirTrunk, Digital Realty, Equinix, Global Switch, NTT Global Data Centres, Princeton Digital Group, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) and Vantage Data Centres.

These companies represent 40 percent of the APAC market excluding Mainland China, according to Synergy Research Group.
